Fast Electric Scooters are a popular source of interest among new buyers. These people want to know what are the fast electric scooters so that they can see if they could make the switch to an electric scooter. The good news is speeds of scooters are increasing. Where only a few years ago a top speed for a scooter was 20 to 25 miles per hour, we have now seen a numbers of scooters pus the envelope. I currently define fast electric scooters as scooters that have a top speed of 30mph or faster. Here, is a list of some scooters that meet this threshold: 

Zapino Electric Scooter 

The Zapino electric scooter is made by ZAP has received rave reviews from customers.  It retails at about $3,500, but the customers have been impressed with its design.  It has very stylish look that come in a number of different colors.  Also, its performance numbers are very nice.  It has a top speed of 30mph and has a traveling range of 30 miles before another charge is needed.  This is a great combination for an electric scooter.   

EVT America R20 Scooter 

This very hip scooter has some even better performance numbers than the Zapino.  It has top speed of up to 45mph and has a traveling range of 30 to 45miles.  The retail price of these beauties are $2,500 a piece.  This is great news for scooter enthusiasts.  

Electric XM-3000 Deluxe 

The Electric XM-3000 Deluxe is near scooter than came out earlier this year.  These electric scooters can have a general top speed of 40 to 50mph.  They also have a traveling range of up to 50 miles.  It will generally cost about $2500. 

Electric XM- 3500 Li Luxury 

This electric scooter performs even better than the Electric XM-3000 Deluxe.  This scooter can reach a top speed of 55mph and has a traveling range of up to 80 miles.  These numbers are quite impressive.  To buy this scooter, it retails for $4,500. 

Vectrix Electric Scooter 

It has a top speed of 62mph and has a battery range of 70 miles.  The Vectrix Electric Scooter is the new heavyweight electric scooter in terms of speed.  At speeds of up to 62mph, it is probably the fastest electric scooter on the market.  Plus, it has excellent acceleration reaching 0 to 50 in just under 7 seconds.  In addition, it has a very sleek and stylish design that has made it a hit at promotional shows.  It currently retails for $11,000. 

Vespa Powascooter PS168 

This is Vespa’s answer for the electric scooter.  Obviously, Vespa is well known for making high quality scooters and the Vespa Powascooter PS168 seems to fall in line with this tradition.  Early reviews of this scooter are positive.  The reason is it can go up to 30 miles per hour and has a fairly good traveling range of 20 to 25 miles before another charge up.  Currently, it is being sold mainly in Great Britain and Australia, but some other places have it as well.  The price range for this scooter is roughly $3,000 to $3,500. 

This list is by no means exhaustive; however, it does give you some indication of what is available at this speed range. Although speed should never be the only factor you consider when buying a gas or electric scooter, there is no denying the appeal of fast electric scooters.
