Mobility
Scooters
Mobility Scooters
allow the handicapped and the elderly to continue to take an
active role in our society.
These scooters can be
used in homes to maneuver from room to room or can be used
outside to drive on sidewalks or go into stores to purchase
items.
These scooters have
allowed a large segment of our society to lead more
productive lives.
The scooters tend to
be either 3 or 4 wheel models which offer full range of
motion and can travel at maximum speeds just over 5
mph. In addition,
they can go up to 15 miles without a charge.
These electric scooters
offer quite a bit of versatility as you can purchase ones
tailored more to your needs. Some come equipped with larger
wheels and are designed for more outside use whereas some
are more focused specifically on inside
use.
The price tag for
these scooters runs about $1,000 to $2,000 depending on the
model and features; however, an increasing number of the
scooters are purchased with insurance.
This helps reduce the
cost and allows for more individuals to use these
scooters.
These scooters
popularity is expected to continue to grow as baby boomers
continue to age.
These scooters serve a
vital need in our community and, I look forward to seeing
them improve in function and
design.
