Best Ways To Carry Cargo
On the outset, it might seem that people riding
scooters have very limited cargo space. After all, most scooters
only come with cargo room in the front glove box or under
the seat storage. Sadly, many make the
mistake that this is all a scooter can store which is
nothing further from the truth. Here, are few ideas that
can help you carry more cargo.
1.
Use Messenger bags. These were first made
popular by bike messengers, but work great for scooter
drivers as well. You can fill these with
important documents or even your laptop
computer.
This is ideal for business commuters because they are
rugged on the exterior to handle all conditions, tend to
be very lightweight, and can be found for as little as
$20.
2.
Scooter Trunk or Scooter Cases. These work similar to a
small trunk in that you can store any number of items in
them ranging from gloves to lunch. The cost anywhere from
$130 to $200 and are mounted on the back of
scooters. This
means they are out of the way and provide additional cargo
room.
3. Cargo Baskets. These have long been
popular in Europe and Asia for helping carry groceries
or small supplies. Cargo baskets come in rear versions and
front basket designs. They will run about $20 to
$25.
4.
Cargo Trailer. These are great for larger
loads as they can usually haul up to 100 lbs of extra
capacity. Plus,
they are reasonably priced wit models ranging from $150 to
$200.
5.
Scooter Gear Bag. These bags fit right on
your handlebars or your seat post and work great for getting
a little extra cargo room. They work much like a
messenger bag and are just as cheap as they can be had for
$20.
6.
Helmet Lock. These are great because they allow you
to lock your helmet to your scooter when you are not
driving. This
allows you more room for your other storage areas as the
helmet doesn’t have to be stuffed in those
areas. Plus,
you can find a good one in the price range of $20 to
$30.
As you can see, it is very easy to add more
storage space to your existing scooter. By apply a few simple
tools, you should be able to transport most of your regular
everyday items.
